These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Comma application and website at https://comma.finance (“Service”), operated by Comma App Pty Ltd (ABN 21 696 227 746, “we,” “our,” or “us”).

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Comma is a personal finance application that helps you understand your spending, tax, retirement planning, wealth, and gambling activity. You import data via CSV files exported from your bank. Your data is encrypted client-side using AES-256-GCM before storage.

2. Accounts

You may create an account using your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and encryption password. We cannot recover your encryption password — if you lose it, your encrypted data cannot be decrypted.

3. Payment

Comma offers Free, Pro (A$149 one-time), and Lifetime (A$299 one-time) tiers. Payments are processed by Stripe. All prices are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Pricing varies by country. Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase.

4. Your Data

You own your data. We encrypt it with your password and store the encrypted result. We cannot read your financial data. You can export all your data at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer the encryption or access other users’ data
  • Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the Service
  • Resell or redistribute the Service

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Comma is a financial tracking tool, not a financial advisor. We do not provide financial, tax, investment, or gambling advice. Always consult a qualified professional for financial decisions.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Comma App Pty Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

8. Gambling Tracker

The gambling tracking feature is provided for informational purposes only. It is not a diagnostic or therapeutic tool. If you or someone you know is experiencing gambling-related harm, please contact a professional helpline in your country.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.
